The length of training can vary depending on how far up the EMT ladder you would like to climb. You will be able to complete your course usually most commonly in the range of two years to become a paramedic. Other levels of EMT will have a shorter duration.

Paramedic EMT Training Exams

The last part of paramedic emt training requires you to pass the licensing exam. The National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians also offers an exam to get you nationally certified. Becoming nationally certified will help you out of you decide in the future that you want to move to another state but you still want to continue with your career. Passing the NREMT is also required for most states.
